Shfar-Am Terrorist Attack Dear Friends and prayer partners, Praise the Lord for you and thank you all for writing and/or phoning to express your love and let us know that you do care for us. We were on our way coming back from a King's Kids preparation camp in Jerusalem when we heard the terrible news of the terrorist attack in Shefa-Amer (Shfar-Am). As you all know, we’ve been invited to travel to Finland from 8 to 29 August as young Jewish and Arab believers in Christ. On the 4th of August, the last day of our camp, we actually had a session about peace, talking about the issue from the youth’s different points of view. With love we agreed and disagreed on things. Yet in the end we got to the point that Jesus is the one who unites us. Only through Him we can love each other and go forth hand in hand evangelizing and leading people from all the nations to know Christ and decide for Him. Then we can live in real peace and harmony, knowing that the ways of the world are not ways of peace. The attack came as a test of our faith, a test of whether the commitments we had taken on ourselves will stand in storms. It also showed people from both sides that hatred and bitterness can lead any person from any nation to do such terribly bad deeds. Praise the Lord that on our way back home we could talk things over, pray and sometimes sing quiet songs, while showers of bad news came to us through friends, family and radio news. Two young Muslim university students and two Christian men died. We as Barhoums and our House of Light members knew at least two of them very well. Some were also somehow related to them. It's very sad. We are crying out of hurting hearts!! Yet we believe that "It takes the night to bring out the glory and brilliancy of the stars. It requires the storm cloud to make it possible to paint the rainbow. Tribulation and affliction are only the wrapping paper around the priceless miracles and joys of the Lord." We, the House of Light and the King's Kids, will continue to shine Jesus' light, love and life in the darkness of this world by the Power of the Holy Spirit that is in us. We will continue the mission we are called to do, being bridge makers and bringing our two nations together. Satan has no authority upon our lives, thoughts and emotions. We will not allow him to build walls of enmity since Jesus has already demolished them making the two nations as one. We have chosen the following scripture to be our challenge for this summer and printed it out on the T-shirts to be worn in Finland. Ephesians 2:14-15 "For He is our peace, He who made both one and broke down the dividing wall of enmity, through His flesh,… so making peace" Before the bus driver died he succeeded to open the doors and some people jumped out. Amongst them was a young woman who learned to know the Lord some years ago at the House of Light, then rejected Him and lived her own unacceptable way. She is still overwhelmed with what she's been through. Yet she praises the Lord for giving her a chance to live and glorify His name. She comments: "All this week I have lived a horrible life, humiliated and cursed the name of the Lord many times. But when I saw these innocent people, who lived simple and decent lives, being killed right in front of my eyes while I .......was saved, I knew that I am loved and there is a plan for my life. Please pray for me to be clothed with heavenly power that enables me to live a clean life for Him for evermore". We appreciate your prayers and intercession before the Lord that He will intervene and comfort the hearts, giving His peace until His purpose is revealed. On a final note, we would like to call to your attention some astonishing events that happened on the night before the terrorist attack on http://www.comeandsee.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=671
