House of Light

·        The House of Light is an Arab Christian charity for Social Aid, officially registered as an “Amuta” (non-profit organization), founded by Anis and Nawal Barhoum. The House of Light works in the strong conviction that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the solution for all problems and needs by the power of His Holy Spirit.

·        The House of Light presents the Gospel to all who ask for help, regardless of their backgrounds.

·        Ministry at the House of Light started in 1984 by having a “Good News Club” at the Barhoum family house, held by the organization Child Evangelism Fellowship.

·        The House of Light became a center for evangelism and counseling as God sent people, many times parents of children who attended the Good News Club, asking for help.

·        The couple counsels broken families, girls with problems as well as addicts who seek help for rehabilitation. Prevention programs are held on a weekly basis especially for women and children.

·        The House of Light hosts and nurtures a year round program called King’s Kids. It is a children’s and youth ministry which teaches them to evangelize through volunteering and performing arts, bringing Christian Arab and Messianic Jewish youth together as one in Christ.
Kings Kids also holds special summer camps every year.

·        Bible studies, worship meetings, counseling sessions, individual care, home visits, King’s Kids and Good News Clubs are held in the House of Light every week. 

·        The Lord also “opened the doors of prisons” in front of Anis and Nawal and they are now able to visit prisoners with a Christian background. They aim at leading them to real repentance by the understanding and acceptance of our real Messiah. At Christmas and Easter they take a group of committed believers to lead worship, teach and have fellowship with inmates inside the different prisons. The group also gives presents to all prisoners. Prisoners’ families are being nurtured by the House of Light and helped to overcome the difficulties as well as to have a renewed mind and life.

·        The House of Light is constantly initiating and/or taking part in meetings amongst Christian Arabs and Messianic Jews. She feels the responsibility and vision for strengthening the bonds in the body of Christ, just as Jesus himself tore down the wall of partition and hatred. Anis & Nawal take part in a monthly prayer meeting held by Arab and Jewish ministers.

·        When needed, the House of Light also supplies food and clothing for needy families which the House of Light counsels.

·        The Lord blessed the House of Light with Christian psychologists and a social worker who are always ready when needed. One of them volunteers for individual counseling on a weekly basis. She also gives a course for two different groups that is really making changes in the lives of attendants and their family members.
