Family News
Firstly, we would like to announce the most recent addition to our family with the birth of Zaher's and Ranaa's baby: Fu'ad Zaher Haddad. He arrived the 8th of April at 23:55, almost one month early, but we are so glad he is now with us. Both the baby and Ranaa' are doing well, though both parents are surprised and hadn’t expected the delivery to be so soon. He weighed 2 kilos 860 grams, was 47 cm long, and is a bundle of joy.
Reconciliation
• Anis was recently with a group of Messianic Jewish Bible College students in China, South Korea and the USA. It was a really blessed visit, and many were blessed by their presence together as Arab and Jew. In South Korea, they attended one church with a 15,000 seat auditorium. This church had its own school and other amenities. In China, the group experienced the "underground church" and believers who were so hungry for more of the Lord! The conference in Los Angeles, USA was also very special. Their group was really able to encourage other believers with the truth of the gospel that brings about unity between Arab and Jew!
• When they returned from this trip, Anis had about 10 days to rest and recuperate before his next visit to Egypt. Together with Messianic ministers, many attended again to share the picture of reconciliation. They also met with ministers from different countries in the world and especially the Middle East. This visit was founded upon Isaiah 19:23 and it was very blessed!
• Anis recently attended a conference for SAYF (Sitting at Yeshua’s Feet) with Jewish Messianic and Arab Christian leaders from the land.
Christian Counseling
• Christiane, the psychiatric nurse who has been with us for 3 years, left us recently. She will not return next year, as the Lord is leading her into new endeavors. She did much of our Christian counseling and education, and she will be greatly missed. We finished this year of counseling with a trip to Hamat Gader, Hot Springs at the Jordanian border, for a day of fellowship. We pray the Lord is with her in this new chapter of her life, and we pray that the Lord anoints a new worker to work with us at the House of Light in the area of Christian counseling and education.
Youth Ministry
• On one of our recent movie nights 25 people attended and we showed the movie "The Ride", which is a Christian film about bull riding. It was really good, and many were really touched by the powerful message.
• At our last B1 meeting, 15 youth with 2 new people attended. We played many games, and had a ping pong tournament. It was a fun time of fellowship, and a time for the gospel to go forth.
• We have been contacting the youth a lot more on a one on one basis, and it has really been constructive. We have been praying with them, and truly seeing the Lord work in their lives!
• We have one particular youth who has really rededicated his life to the Lord. We have truly seen a change in his life, character, and countenance, and we give glory to the Lord!
King's Kids
• At a recent King’s Kids meeting, we shared what we learned at a recent Holiness and Sexuality conference. The youth who attended were able to help us teach the subject to the others. It was some of the best teaching we have heard on this subject, so we were glad to share it with the whole group!
• Our King's Kids kicked off the Pesach/Easter holidays with a performance in Nazareth with both the Shefar’am and Jerusalem teams. It was a special night with many performances, pantomimes, and testimonies. Many people attended and the performance lasted almost 2 hours! We were very blessed by their hard work and wonderful performances.
• Also, the Catholic Church and school in Shefar'am recently invited our King's Kids to perform for the students in the church. The Priest and Bishop were in attendance, and they were both touched by a song they performed. That song was called “Mustahik kulli majd, ya yasoo'”, which means: “You deserve all the glory, Lord Jesus.” They have already asked us to come again and have the intention of having us on a regular basis. Anis is now talking with the leaders of the church, the school and the scouts. They are trying to plan something for the youth together. We are really excited about this door that the Lord has opened for us, and we pray for this new phase of the King's Kids ministry. We trust that our prayers and yours will lead us and direct us in the plans and future of this new partnership.
Lech L'cha
• Recently, we had the Lech L'cha group with us for almost a week. They stayed at the House of Light, and we were able to have them at a King’s Kids meeting with our youth. One Arab Christian gave his testimony and the Lech L’cha group members were also able to share one on one with the youth. We pray God will continue to use the things that were discussed in this meeting. Ies and Jeane prepared a very creative way for us to express our desire to be like David, a man according to God's heart. We first heard a message from Ies, and then we were creative with clay, making a statue of how we perceive David. Some made him holding a harp as a man of worship, some portrayed him with God's word and some had him on his face laying his crown at the feet of the Lord. It was a wonderful way to be involved in the lesson! Many people were affected by this, it was really special!
Family Ministry
• We all have been busy with many home visits with the families of the House of Light. Recently, Anis, Nawal, Ies, Jeane, Remi, and Sara all went to visit one family together. It was a nice time of fellowship, but also a time for us to encourage this family! • Ies and Jeane are currently making regular visits to 4 families. They meet with one man on a one-on-one basis for encouragement and prayer. They encourage him to express his feelings artistically, to read the Psalms and to begin to walk independently with the Lord. It has been good for this man who has been so frustrated to the point of depression for so long. This has really been helping him!
• Remi and Sara are visiting 3 families regularly and many on an “as needed” basis. They try to focus on families where there are youth, to encourage and pray with them. • On March 3, Remi and Sara took some married couples to a marriage conference in Karmiel. We pray that God does a mighty work through this event! Prison Ministry
• Anis just resumed his prison visits and we pray God is blessing his time!
• We recently received a very encouraging phone call from one prisoner, “Ch”. Previously, he was addicted to drugs and lived without hope. He phoned us to say that he is clean and that he is really happy. In fact, he told us that if we could see his face, we would not even recognize him! He is so changed by the Lord that even his face is different. We are in great awe of the Lord's abundant grace to this man.
Recent Visit
• We had a very special visit recently from a group of interns from a discipleship school in Cyprus. They touched our hearts and the hearts of families we work with. While they were here, they prayed for many people, and even led our Tuesday night meeting with song, dance and several wonderful messages and testimonies. God really used them in many lives.
• One special visit with this group was to a hospital in Haifa. We took them to pray for one particular lady with whom we work at the House of Light. However, after the group had finished praying for her, the Jewish lady that shared the room with her also asked for prayer. After the group finished praying for this lady, a Muslim man who works at the hospital asked that the group would also pray for another patient. The group went to pray for that patient, and then his roommate also asked for prayer. It was a God-appointed time of prayer for not just Christians, but also for a Jewish lady and a Muslim and one man even accepted the Lord! We were really encouraged by God's wonderful plan that He set forth even before we entered the hospital, His plan for salvation, witness, and healing!
Prayer Requests
• We recently have had many prisoners phoning us day and night. Many of them are soon to be released from prison and they have nowhere to go when they leave the prison. Most of them have recently accepted the Lord. We realize that there is a great need to have a post-prison rehabilitation center where prisoners can go upon leaving the prisons for discipleship training, job training, and life training. At the present time, if their families will not accept them - and most of them will not - they have no place to turn to. This often sends them back into their old lives of drugs, crime, and despair. Please pray with us that God will raise a place that these men can go and seek the Lord and allow Him to work in their lives and prepare them for life with the Lord outside prison.
• Our second prayer request is for the forthcoming King's Kids summer camp. We are praying for God to provide all that we need to make this camp a success: finances, manpower, and the youth that He wills to come! Please stand in prayer with us that He would be Lord of this endeavor, and that He would bring it all together in His timing.
• A pick-up truck to be able to take things to and from the land for the camp. It is also needed for going to the land all year round as the road to the land is very uneven and rough.
• We would also like you to pray for us how to continue with the families who previously worked with Christiane. They still have many needs and we need to continue to be with them. So please pray that the Lord would grant us wisdom how to continue to counsel and educate them in the power of the Holy Spirit.
