Healthcare

When it comes to healthcare there are many different areas to the industry, such as dentistry, medicine, nursing and pharmacy.  Within these different areas they have different roles, for example within dentistry and nursing it is very much about the service being provided, whereas within pharmaceuticals, the sale of products is the focus.  Traditionally, healthcare refers to when the care is being done within the hospital, dentist or surgery.  However, there are other healthcare services which are done by physicians in other environments.  For example, hydrotherapy is done in private or public swimming pools.  Yoga is often done in public sports halls, massages as even sometimes done in the comfort of your own home.

When people come to receiving healthcare, it can be done via two ways, either privately, or via the NHS (National Health Service).  If you select to go private, then you don’t have to pay the health TAX, but it does mean that the healthcare is then not free when you need it.  You cannot use the NHS hospitals; you have to use private ones such as BUPA.  The care and quality is supposed to be far greater within private with lesser waiting time, but the costs are then very expensive if you do need to have operations and ongoing care.

The Government are very concerned about the overall health of the country and therefore are now trying healthy living campaigns in order to keep us off hospital beds and freeing up the spaces for those who really do need immediate healthcare.  They are encouraging healthy eating and increased exercising in order to achieve this.
